Coach Daniele Capoferri

Daniele Capoferri, "Capo" as he is known, came to SSFAC in the 2000-2001 season. It didn't take long for the club to see what an impact player he would become. Without a doubt, the best goalkeeper the team has ever had, and feared throughout the entire Peninsula League for his powerful, dominating play. He led the team to numerous victories with his fiery style and cat quick reactions. He was the commander of the defense, always instructing and giving encouragement to his teammates. To watch him play the game at such a high level was comparable to watching an artist creating a masterpiece. His work ethic was second to none and the examples he set at training showed the passion he has for the game. It was only fitting that when he stopped playing in 2009, he became a coach with the team and brought his knowledge, positive attitude, and teaching abilities to todays current players. Daniele runs the teams training sessions and helps Coach Mike with the strategic decisions for the good of the club. Daniele & Mike enjoy a great relationship on and off the pitch and their vision for the clubs future is what keeps them motivated. Daniele has an impressive resume having played for FC Chiasso, SC Balerna, and FC Oerlikon prior to coming to the United States. He takes his place on the All Time SSFAC Best XI and holds all team records for goalkeepers.
