League leaders Santa Clara Sporting spoiled SSFAC's bid to get in the win column as they turned back South City by a count of 4-1 last Saturday @ Reed & Grant Sports Complex.
SSF got off to a fairly good start, but Sporting took the lead shortly after a SSF goal was disallowed on a questionable offside call. The team did respond however as Ryan Waterston's great hold off play continued with him serving up a pass to Greg Hui for a precise finish.
Unfortunately, tired legs and a lack of numbers got the better of the squad and Sporting struck for 2 goals in the final 5 minutes of the first half. The 2nd half saw Sporting sit on possession and punish SSF's efforts as they collected a 4th goal off a counter attack.
SSF will look to some home cooking as they attempt to get that elusive 1st win of the season when they take on Dublin Celtic FC on Sunday, October 8th with kickoff set for 10:30am at Colt Field on the campus of El Camino High School
