SSFAC Survives "The Curse" Wins at Cayetano Park

Big 2nd Half propels SSF to a comeback victory ! Click Here For Recap

SSFAC returned to Cayetano Park in Livermore Saturday night to face Dublin Celtic FC.  Over the years, Cayetano has been the nightmare pitch for South City as potential wins ended in losses, big leads disappeared and frustration was at the forefront in almost every match.

It looked like deja-vu all over again as the Halloween weekend was wreaking havoc on the pitch. Dublin rolled to an early 3-0 lead by the 27th minute and things were not looking good. Fortunately a PK conversion by Omeed Miraftab-Salo, his first of 2 on the night, brought SSF within 3-1 going into halftime. Would that momentum be enought to turn the game around?

YES INDEED ! South City came out in the 2nd half with an intense all or nothing approach and held Celtic scoreless while stunning them with 3 strikes of their own to earn a dramatic well earned 4-3 win. Rahi Miraftab-Salo tallied one and Ferdi Ghafury hit the game winner in the 83rd minute to go along with Omeed's 2nd penalty conversion and SSF had the win they so desperately needed and left Livermore knowing that the "Curse" had been put to bed till at least next season.

Up next is an opening round match in the 2025-26 Abronzino Cup when SSFAC faces F3 FC at El Camino High, Sunday, November 9th with kickoff at 10:30am
