SSFAC's Cup Run Ends in Quarterfinal Loss. Click Here for Recap

The Quarterfinals Cup match between SSFAC and In Motion FC certainly lived up to the hype. SSFAC was looking for their first ever entry into the semifinals, while IMFC was looking to make it a double by advancing to a potential Cup final as well as a league title that they are currently chasing.

The teams battled hard and both had numerous opportunities in the first half, but the intense match would be scoreless at the half. Just as the teams were working hard for that initial breakthrough and getting a goal, South City's achilles heel of giving up quick counter attack strikes, reared its ugly head yet again and IMFC struck for 2 goals in the 65TH & 67Th minutes to grab the lead.

SSFAC then pushed hard and played some solid soccer as they tried to get back in the match. that effort was rewarded when Rahi Miraftab-Salo tallied to draw SSF within a goal at 2-1. Now it was game on as South City pushed hard for an equalizer. 

In Motion weathered the storm and struck for 2 more goals in the 84th & 90th minute to complete the 4-1 victory and advance to the semifinal round against Santa Clara Sporting.

SSFAC returns to league play when they face 2nd place JSC JASA on Saturday Night February 7th at Bechet Field with kickoff at 7:00pm
