Game Comments:

During South City's last match the start of the second half was unkind to SSFAC, but this week it was a different story. Coming back from the shortend of a 1-0 score, SSF tallied twice early in the second half, and that was enough to propel them to a 2-1 win over Shaheen. Colin Edwards notched his 1st goal of the year after a scramble inside the 6 yard box and assists from Blair Smith and Stephen Shaw-Smith. Shortly thereafter, Shaw-Smith took a ball down the left side and slotted it to Edwards who laid the pass off to Fabio Marques. Marques collected the ball, spun to his left and drove home strong shot from about 16 yards out to give SSF the lead. The defensive back line of Alvarez, Huy-Chan, Griffin, and Captain Kenny Ewbank shut down Shaheen from that point and made for a fairly easy day for goalkeeper Danny Cardoza. Shaw-Smith's 2 assists and dominate play on the wing earns him "Man of the Match" and helps SSF level its season record at 3 and 3.
