SSFAC's 1st match in the 2011-12 PSL Cup was over quickly as they notched 5 goals in the first half enroute to an 11-0 win over Tesla Motors. So dominant was SSF's performance that they outshot Tesla by a count of 36-2. In all fairness to Tesla, this is a struggling team in their initial year in the PSL's 1st Division, however South City did what they are suppose to do by putting the game away early. Jonathan Wong lead the way with 4 goals, while Antony Reyes and Ryan Wiegmann each tallied 2. Blair Smith, Jim Burke & Scott Ellis also found the net as SSF displayed a polished passing game that lead to many opportunities at goal. The midfield completely took control of the match with Damian Hites, Andrew Pantano, Leandro Monteiro, Burke & Smith leading the way. The defense lead by Ever Alvarez, Ian Preikschat, Harry Andreades, Thoeun Huy-Chan and Ellis, spent most of their time setting up the offense with great passes as Tesla didn't mount much of an attack. Monteiro, Wiegmann & Andreades each notched a pair of assists. SSF will now prepare for Round 2 of the Cup where they will face the Majors Division DV8 Defenders in what will be a very challenging match for South City.
