SSFAC advanced to the 2nd Round of the PSL Abronzino Cup with a Forfeit win over Club Sport Maritimo. The match began with South City shorthanded, only fielding 10 players. They did manage to stun Maritimo with a goal in the 4th minute, when Gareth Lea drove a shot from about 40 yards out to beat a shocked Maritimo keeper who found himself out of position. Maritimo were able to equalize 10 minutes from halftime, and the tams prepared for what was expected to be an intense battle in half number two, however, during halftime it was discovered that Club Sport Maritimo had used an illegal player during the entire first half so the game was declared a forfeit in SSF's favor. The team will now take time off to enjoy the Christmas holiday period with family and friends. The season will resume on Sunday, January 12th. Happy Holidays to all from SSFAC.
