For SSFAC deuces are wild, as they recorded their 2nd straight 2-0 shutout on consecutive rainy Sunday's. Blair Smith got South City on the board in the 15th minute when he curled home a beautiful shot to the upper right corner from about 18 yards out after receiving a perfectly played through ball from Jack Orr, which had come from a great pass by Adam Dhanens who worked hard to start the play after fighting for a loose ball. Smith close out the scoring in minute 82 when he put home a free kick after Andrew Elliott was taken down hard just outside the penalty area. SSF dominated most of the play after PCC started the match with possession in the SSF end. As SSF began to apply pressure, PCC had difficulty in mounting many attacks. When they did manage to get off a shot from close range, goalkeeper Adrian Monroy was up to the task as he turned away a couple of shots with great saves to preserve his 2nd shutout in a row. The defense was again South City's key to victory as they limited PCC to only 6 shots all day. Stephen Shaw Smith, Scott Ellis, Reuben Wartens, Ali Ibrahim, & Robert Rustia shut off any threats on goal and blocked many passes as PCC became frustrated in their efforts to move forward. At the same time, South City took control of the middle of the field with stellar play from Bobby Quinlan, Jack Orr, Shane Kutaka, Pedro Crispin, Leo Monteiro, and Omar Nawabi. Fabio Marques and Andrew Elliott provided solid runs into the attack to help support the play of Smith and Elliott as SSF fired 20 shots on the day. Kutaka and Crispin had huge games as they worked up and down the pitch to sustain the attack and provide the defense needed to close off PCC from generating anything on the wings. SSF notches its 10th win of the season and looks ahead to a battle with Harmonie in 2 weeks.
