SSFAC started the match on a high note as they came out firing and putting solid pressure on the Goal Busters defense. They got on the scoreboard early as Kevin Steiger took a great through ball from Bobby Quinlan and finished his chance from about 19 yards out to give SSF the lead. Just four minutes later, Steiger was again involved in a scoring play as he found Andrew Elliott open on the left side. He deposited the ball to Elliott's chest and Elliott turned on it and sent a high shot from about 30 yards out that dipped once it went over the goalkeepers head to give the team a 2-0 lead. Goal Busters cut the lead in half as they scored in the 29th minute to draw close. It was a fairly even battle in the second half, but Goal Busters found the net twice within 2 minutes of each other at the 65 minute mark to take the lead for good. South City put on some good pressure and challenged hard for the equalizer, but they couldn't get the goal to come as time ran out. The team played well as a whole, but the boys will need to work hard to get themselves in better game shape as they move forward in the league schedule. Club Sport Maritimo is up next in what will be a very difficult match.
