SSFAC opened their 2017-18 PSL season with a 1-0 victory over JASA Dos in a fierce battle at Red Morton Park in Redwood City. Jack Blackley accounted for the only goal when he slotted home a loose ball inside the six yard box to give SSFAC a lead 8 minutes into the match. That would be enough as the Defense lead by Matteo Lupini, Fernando Costa, Jack Silva, Martin Wright and Blackley thwarted numerous attempts by JASA to equalize. GK Adrian Monroy came up with some brilliant saves to help preserve the victory. SSF also received strong play from their midfield who did a great job controlling the opening half. Eric Holman, Gio Bianchi, Shane Kutaka, David Tuesta and Philippe Gradt did a solid job maintaining possession and leading the attack forward by working the ball around and finding teammates that could sustain the attack. Forwards Carlos Ballesteros, Dominic Hattouni, Kieran Lade, and Greg Hui put constant pressure on the back four of JASA Dos and forced some great saves from the JASA goal keeper.. SSF contiues on the road next week when they face South Bay FC in an 8pm match at Google Field
