In their second meeting of the year, SSFAC and Palo Alto SC battled to a 2-2 tie. South City came out strong to open the match playing some quality football with Danny Turgeon serving some great passes out to the wings. SSF was creating some good chances and finally got rewarded when Brendan Cadam worked his way around the PASC defense and laid a ball off to Eduardo Isatio who then crossed it to Sam Nadell for the finish giving South City the early 1-0 lead. PASC became a big threat coming forward against SSF, but as they picked up a ball on the left side, South City's Martin Wright sent a perfectly weighted ball to Danny Turgeon who was standing dead center in the midfeild. Turgeon ran with the ball and then unleashed a 35 yard screamer into the top corner to increase the lead to 2-0. A brilliant strike by the midfielder. As luck would have it, PASC answered with a goal of their own just before the half closed to make it a 2-1 game.
The second half saw South City struggle at times as they only had one sub available and PASC kept putting on pressure and getting some good opportunities. They finally found their equalizer in the 70th minute bringing the game level. SSF pushed hard for a late winner, but PASC remained strong as South City couldn't find the winner.
SSFAC remains on top of the league table as their closest challenger, SC Sporting dropped a 3-1 decision to Gordon Biersch. Next up for the boys is a home game vs Goal Busters on Sunday, November 10th with kickoff set for 10:30 am at El Camino High.
