Palo Alto SC came out flying and tried to take the game to South City right from the opening whistle, but after about 10 minutes, SSF started to take control and had the better of the chances during the first half. The game was played at a fast pace and was very physical. PASC managed to get the only goal of the half and forced South City to play catch up as the second half began. As the second half began, SSF put pressure on PASC as they tried to get the equalizer. Strong midfield play from Bobby Quinlan, Gareth Lea, Leo Monteiro, and Ali Ibrahim created numerous chances as play pushed deeper into the PASC end of the field. SSF finally was able to even the score at one apiece when Kevin Steiger made a deep run up the left side and sent a perfect pass across the goal mouth for Monteiro to slot home from the back post. South City then pushed hard to get the game winner, but PASC tallied their second goal of the match at the 71st minute to retake the lead. The match intensified at that point as SSF continued to push for the tie and the only reason they were kept off the board was the solid play from the Palo Alto goal keeper. Adrian Monroy was also spectacular in goal for South City as he turned away numerous scoring opportunities for PASC. Monroy continues to be unbelievable this season as he has kept the team in every game. SSF now returns home to El Camino High to face Gordon Biersch this weekend
