The 1990's began with SSFAC playing in the 1st Division of the Peninsula Soccer League. Having started in 1984 with a rebuilt team coached by Mike Pizzo, the club finished the 80's with a 32-46-16 record amassing 169 goals and surrendering 232. As the team entered the 90's, it had it's share of success along with some seasons of struggle. In 1994, the team hit rock bottom as they fimished 1-12-5 and allowed 50 goals in their 18 games, relegating them to the 2nd Division. The team responded with 2 outstanding seasons in 1995 & 96 going a combined 25-4-7 during that 2 year stretch with 1996 featuring a promotion back to the 1st division as the team went 13-1-4 while scoring 59 goals and allowing just 22 in their 18 matches. The decade would come to a close with the team recording a 9 year record of 57-67-26 with 290 goals and 328 against.
